Due to the recent election, we are moving quickly with our resettlement partner World Relief to welcome new families in January. Will you be part of the welcome team for these families? It is always an exciting time when new families arrive, and there is much work to be done. Can you see yourself doing one or more of these?
- Help accept donations and set up apartments
- Meet families at the airport
- Cook welcome meals and help stock their kitchens
- Help families settle in by visiting weekly to answer questions
- Drive families to health and cultural orientation appointments
- Become a mentor or tutor
- Introduce families to the transit system
- Raise money to help cover expenses for the first year
- Ask friends and family to join you as a volunteer
We need you to be a part of this rewarding volunteer work. You can help make families' new apartments feel like home and meet them with smiles and open arms. Your support through this time can make all the difference to their long-term success.
The outpouring of support has been amazing! We are so grateful. At this time, we are no longer accepting new applications. After January, as the resettlement activity slows down, we'll reassess our needs and re-open applications at that time.
